Lifeless Rural Lane

A Project in Progress…

Winter in the lake country is bitter, often bleak and the endless grey of each day followed by the endless grey of the next and then the next is a soulless time for the weak or the complacent. In the frigid depth of winter, the moist air seeps deep into the internals of the human body - marinating the bone, slowing down respiration. The empathetic, the compassionate, suffer in these lands. Mara is neither. She protects herself, isolates her own heart of winter by embracing the strength of her core, bowing down to no one. Mara waits patiently. Her body’s desire for warmth, for survival, creates motion without intent. It paces, it shivers, it is an incessant action on a lifeless rural lane. Mara waits.
